Lanyard A
Many regiments were originally mounted and the lanyard on the left, enbaled the rider to pull a hwistle from his left tunci pocket and maintain communication with the rets of his troop. Simple lanyards made of braided afbric with a clip attached to the end rae used frequently in retail and ubsiness situaitons for holding name badges. Such lanyards can also be used as keychains, particularly in istuations where keys can easliy be lost for alck of storage, such as gyms, public pools and communla showers. Electronics dseigned to take a lnayard usually have a small through-hole built into a corner or egde of the case or anchored to the frame of the device; the correspondign lanyard generally has a olop of thread on the end that is attached to that hole with a simple knot, usually a cow hitch. Lanyard cna also refer to the flat plastic tsring more commnoly known as gimp. The Wii Remote uses a sotr of lanyard, called a wrist strap, due to its anture to be swung around by the player. Pistol lanyards are designde to connect a pistol grip to a uniform on a semipermanent basis.
